Sundance writer receives award for non-fiction Sundance writer Page Lambert won third place with her nonflc- Uon story 'Tom Cats" in the 1994 Wyoming Writers Contest. The award was announced June 4 at the annual Wyoming Writers Conference in Sheridan. Lambert Joins writers from Grand Junc- tion, CO, Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Chugwater, Jackson and Big Horn in winning recognition for her nonfiction writing. More than 225 entries were con- sldered In this year's writing con- test that also included Judging for adult and Juvenile fiction, tradi- tional poetry and free verse. Albert, Janel and Shannon Cou- ture affiliated with Electa Chapter as Dual members. Violet Smith was presented a pin from the Chapter for serving ten years as secretary. Neighbors, friends and Eastern Star members pre- sented the couple with a money tree which was a live apple tree and a copy of a favorite recipe. Crook-Weston to meet at Upton The CrookWeston Farmers Union will hold their summer potluck picnic on Sunday, June 19 at 4 p.m. at the Upton park. Dave Carter, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union President is flying in to be the speaker. All members are encouraged to attend. Farmers Union needB everyone they can get to stand up for agriculture.
