UPDATE ON TRASH PICKUP
The 21st Century has hit Sundance with a fully automated trash
pickup system. The City of Sundance would like to thank-the
citizens of Sundance for being patient with us as we switch
over to this new system. We are still in the process of provid-
ing the businesses and residents the service that is required.
For the business community we are picking up as many as 4
times a week to stay ahead of the heavy garbage flow and will
continue to make changes over the next couple of months. If
you are disposing of any type of. florescent bulbs they need to
be broken in the containers. The residential customers that
have individual rollout containers are asked to make sure that
the arrow on the container is pointing toward the street and 10
feet from any vehicles. We would also request that all the con-
tainers are placed in the correct location for pick-up. If the 65
gallon container is not large enough to hold the garbage your
household generates per week, a 95 gallon container is avail-
able for a fee of $5.00 additional per month. All garbage
MUST be bagged as heavy as possible to help keep the
garbage from being blown away during the dumping process.
We are asking that all grass clippings and tree branches be
taken to the landfill where they will be accepted at no charge
to City residents. This is,in preparation for the transport station
that will be mandated to replace the landfill in 2011. If you do
not have a method of transporting your lawn debris to the
tandfiU you may contact City Hall and requesaiik-Up.for a
"n0minal fee.
For the residents that recycle, please leave your blue bags
and cardboard next to the garbage container on YoU r pickup
day and Rick, our "Recycle Guy" will be byto pick them up.
Recyclables must be in a clear or blue see through bag or it
will not be picked up. ONLY recyclables will be picked up next
to the garbage containers. We will be discontinuing some of
our recycle dumpsters in town because there is too much non-
recyclables being deposited in them.
The police would also like to ask for your help. If you see
anyone dumping garbage in a City container that is not a
PAYING resident of Sundance please contact the police right
away at 283-3000 or City Hall at 283-3451. If you have any
questions or concerns please contact City Hall at 283-3459.
