Barb Ketcham, president of the Wyoming Council of Catholic Women, encouraged each of us to be involved with one project this year to help our families, community or church. She spoke confidently that with a good dose of "guts, glue and glee" we can put our Christian beliefs into action. Barb of Sheridan also gave the group some ideas of projects other women are doing such as the Rock Springs Deanery selling unique tee shirts to support retired Sisters and the Thermopolis Deanery distrib- uting bright bumper stickers reminding us to appreciate our priests. The Madonna Plan this year will benefit Sister Mary Ann Hayes of the Franciscan Order working in Mexico, and the family-oriented Working Boys Center in Quito, Ecuador. Ernie Ohlaff, executive direc- tor of outreach of the National Right to Life, and Finn McCarthy, Diocesan Director of Planned Giving were guest speakers. Oh]aft provided in- formation on peoples' attitudes and beliefs about abortion and its use in the United States. He also suggested alternatives to abortion and how we, as com- munity, can help through prayer, politics, and providing support to women with un- planned pregnancies. Finn McCarthy described the Planned Giving program. He identified several Church sponsored organizations that benefit from the program. The Planned Giving program pro- vides several methods to in- clude these organizations in your financial or estate plan- ning. Bishop Hart closed the meet- ing asking the communities to support their clergy through prayer and encouragement.
