7 - Thursday, December 13, 2001 r STEVE HII,TY Sundance Bulldogs boy's team played right along with the Dogies for the first quarter and eleven minutes of the sec- quarter. At that point the Dogies ran off six unanswered points to a 26-18 lead into the locker room at the halfway point. The opened the third period with ten more unanswered points their lead to 36 - 18 and the Bulldogs could not overcome advantage finally succumbing to defeat 62 - 40. Hilty and Mike Follum led the Sundance scoring with eleven followed by Zeb Humphrey with nine points. Jared Andrew Shad and Steele had two and Cornella in one point. Humphrey pulled seven rebounds, and Andrew each had six, Mike Follum had rebounds. He shot the 6x6 bull elk in Unit 117 one day, then shot the cow in Unit 116 another day. Both units are in Crook County. The seasoned elk hunter remarked, "It's a real challenge to get one.elk. It's quite an accomplishment to get two. It was a lot of fun." The Sundance High School Music Department will be presenting their annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the SHS Auditorium. The Annual Chili Supper will precede the concert and will be held in the commons from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets for the Chili Supper may be purchased at the door and are $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for those ten years anti younger. The concert will include the Junior High Concert Band and the Jun- ior High Concert Choir. Darcy Lenz will be a featured flute soloist on one of the JH Choir selections. The High School Concert Band will perform two festive pieces "Over- ture on a Shaker Tune" and "Christmas Past" Sections of the HS Band will perform short instrumental Christmas Ensembles between each large group performance The concert will end with the High School Choir performing tradi- tional Christmas music and an excellent piece entitled "Huron Carol" which will feature Oboe Soloist Kathy Bjornestad. Please plan on arriv- ing early to assure a good seat[ There is no charge for the concert. See you there! REGULAR MEETING MINUTES The regular meeting of the Crook County Natural Resource District was held November 7, 2001. Chris introduced information for a possible conversion to a monthly voucher system as opposed to the individual voucher system that is currently being used. After some discussion, motion was made to ac- cept the conversion. Motion approved. Old Business included information from Carol Nicholls, District Man- ager from Weston County NRD, regarding the hazardous waste collec- tion day. Carol stated that the letter received from the Department of Ag in regards to the urban and rural pesticides was to be in addition to an already established waste collection day. The board then requested Chris to find out how the CCNRD could initiate a waste collection day in Crook County. Chris distributed a spreadsheet to the board regarding current dol- lar/match status for the CCNRD grants. Two auction items were established for the WACD convention. Wayne donated a homemade elk horn candleholder and Terry donated a large mountain lion print. New Business included the distribution of a pre-convention mailing packet from WACD to the board. Chris requested permission to get information on obtaining a credit card for the district use. Veronica signed two amendments and payment requests for the EWP contracts. The Wilson and Bear Lot Minor Subdivisions were reviewed by the board. Discussion on the 2002 mill levy campaign was tabled until next meeting. The next scheduled board meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on December 5, 2001 at the USDA Service Center Conference Room.
